Mr. Emanuel, the White House chief of staff, perhaps unsatisfied with his current power base, has expanded his sphere of influence to include the world of Chicago puppetry.
Last fall, after Redmoon Theater Company’s performance on Halloween at the White House, Mr. Emanuel told Redmoon’s artistic director that he would like the artistically adventurous troupe to remount his favorite production, a dark show called “The Cabinet.” Earlier this month, Redmoon announced a five-week run of the show, starting Feb. 5.
The puppeteers warn against taking children younger than 13 to the show, because of its “acts of violence and dark story line.” But if the children follow politics, they will be adequately prepared.
