Mother's Day is Sunday (yes, a few days from now) and in case you don't have tickets to the various now sold out events across the city, here are a few ideas to show mom how much you appreciate her.

Austin, TX, May 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- With Mother's Day on Sunday, the editors of DVD and Blu-ray website DiscDish.com didn’t want to celebrate by guessing which films mothers might like best. Instead, they’re asking mothers what they really like to watch — and so far, the films have some surprises.

Nine DiscDish.com writers asked their mothers to reveal their three favorite films and explain why. Interestingly, all the moms chose different movies. As expected, many of the moms picked romantic comedies, such as 1999’s "Notting Hill" and 1942’s "Once Upon a Honeymoon," and romance films, including 1965’s sweeping epic "Doctor Zhivago" and 1987’s "Dirty Dancing.

Warm, sunny Mother’s day weekend on tap
Austin is in for a warm and mostly sunny Mother’s day weekend, with highs near 90, according to the National Weather Service.
Today, the high is slated to reach 86 degrees with relatively calm winds, the service said. Tonight, we’ll see a chance for drizzle and a low of 63, the service said. We could also see a wind gusts of up to 20 miles per hour.
We’ll see temperatures climb slightly as we move further into the weekend. Windy conditions will continue, with gusts of up to 25 miles per hour on Saturday and Sunday.
Tomorrow, the high is slated to reach 91, the service said. The low that evening will be 70, the service said.
