Former President Trump easily topped the field in the GOP presidential nomination straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), but another big winner at the nation’s largest annual gathering of conservative activists and leaders was Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Trump, as expected, easily won the straw poll of CPAC attendees, with 55% support in the hypothetical 2024 Republican primary matchup. DeSantis, who finished in second place with 21% support, was the only other Republican to reach double digits.
