21 Republican governors attack Biden's COVID-19 stimulus bill for 'penalizing' their states

WASHINGTON — Twenty-one Republican governors and one Democrat are taking aim at a key component of President Joe Biden's COVID-19 relief bill, arguing a proposed allocation of funds "punishes" states that did not fully lock down businesses amid the pandemic.

The governors, led by South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster, issued a statement over the weekend critical of what they called a "biased" formula used to decide how much money in direct aid each states receives. One Democrat, Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly, also supported the statement.

SEC preparing to play 2021 football season as scheduled, commissioner Greg Sankey says

The SEC is preparing to play the 2021 football season as planned, conference commissioner Greg Sankey said Thursday.

But that isn’t to say the season will look like it did pre-COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are preparing to play the season as scheduled on Labor Day weekend,” Sankey said on a Zoom call hosted by the Nashville Sports Council. “I think we will be back toward normal. That is different than back to normal.”

Hawks fire Lloyd Pierce as head coach, now the focus will be on who they hire next

The Atlanta Hawks fired Coach Lloyd Pierce on Monday after a disappointing 14-20 start.

The Hawks were 63-120 in Pierce’s two-plus seasons.

'Liberal privilege': Donald Trump Jr. criticizes Bruce Springsteen DWI charge dismissal

Blame it on “liberal privilege.”

Donald Trump Jr. blasted the dismissal of driving while intoxicated and reckless driving charges against Bruce Springsteen in federal court on Wednesday, Feb. 24.

Springsteen pleaded guilty to consuming alcohol in a federal park and was fined $500 plus $40. The Boss was arrested at Sandy Hook, part of the Gateway National Recreation Center, on Nov. 14, 2020.
